Mom had some pretty bad moments today but right now she is resting relatively comfortably. She had her dressings changed this morning and the doctors said that the wounds looked good. That gives us a lot less comfort this time around since we heard that right up until the moment the massive infection was found deep inside the first one.
She has had some apple juice, some orange juice, and some ginger-ale which produced some pretty amazing burbs and helped relieve a lot of pressure in her belly. She even ate a little bit of broth for dinner. She had her head raised pretty high in the bed and she rested in that position for a while, but every position ends in pain which does not seem to be getting better. We are maintaining her constant ice chip and water diet, but she seems to be tiring of those too.
Adrienne and I each got home to rest for a little while today and Gretchen and Gordon were just here and we were able to go to dinner. They just left and we will be hunkering down for the night soon.
I know I didn't post much today, but nothing felt momentus enough to feel the need to fill people in, but I know everyone is anxious for any news so I will try to do better tomorrow. I read Aunt Monica's comment about crying everytime she reads and update and I can relate since I am usually crying when I write them. Although we try very hard not to cry in the room with mommy, the bathrooms here have seen their fair share of tears.
