No News is...

No News!!

While I was there this morning mom had her wound vac (on the original wound) changed, she had a bath, and she had the draining of her foot. I saw Dr. Little, Dr. Ghassan, and Dr. Houseman. I thought she might be done for the day so when Aunt Rita got there around 12:30 I went downstairs to the cafeteria for lunch. Of course, as soon as I was gone Dr. Soo showed up. He talked to Aunt Rita and mentioned that he thought there was more infection in her other foot and in her shoulder again. He wants to do a whole body scan to find out where all of the infection is. She told him that he needed to talk to me and he said he would as soon as I came back up. I was back upstairs by 1:30 but when they tried to find him he was in surgery. They told us it would only be few hours, but when Gretchen showed up at 6pm we still had not heard from him. I waited another three hours and still nothing. The nurses left messages but still nothing. Gretch will be there all night so if he shows up someone will be there.

Mom has been out of it most of the day. When she comes to at all it is only babble something incoherent and then she drifts back out. She ate a few bites of sausage at breakfast and drank an Ensure but she has had nothing since then. They finally finished her morning pills with some apple sauce and I got her to take some pills tonight with a few swallows on Ensure but it was very hard.
