It has been a long day and it is going to be an even longer night. Mom is awake and she is not handling any of this very well. She was furious to have a breathing tube in and at around 4pm it was taken out. While she feels more comfortable with this development, she is by no means comfortable. She is very uncomfortable and she is in a lot of pain. She has a self-controlled drip now (dilaudin) but the nurse said that until it builds up it will not help a whole lot. She is very unhappy and unless her pain situation improves I don't see that changing any time soon. We had a lot of people here today, Melody, Jon, Lynn, Megan, Steph, Arnold, Robin, Gordon, and Aunt Rita along with Gretchen, Adrienne, and I. I expect we three girls will spend the night in her room since she is not sleeping at all and needs much attention (mostly in the form of ice chips on demand). Gordon is camped out in the lounge. I just slept in a darkened un-used lounge for about an hour but I can't seem to talk my sisters into taking even that short of a break.
I really, really, hoped I have better news tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear that there is not any good news to report yet. I will be praying extra hard tonight and this week that there is some good news to report SOON...
