Sleepless nights

My recent trip to California has done a number on my jet lagged sleeping clock. I finally took a double dose of diphenhydremene last night and I slept very well. However there were all those other sleepless nights, like the one at the casino. If my body worked better I would have just gone back down to the casino and played till I got sleepy. But getting up and getting dressed (including shoes and socks) and walking to the elevator and then all the way down the hall to the casino; it all seemed like too much trouble.

So I spent the time translating nursery rhymes into French. The A B C song was pretty easy. After singing the alphabet in French I added:
Nous chanton les A B C
Prochaine fois voulez vous chantez.

Next I did Bah Bah Black Sheep but the French word for Sheep eluded me so I worked around it. I really needed it to be two sylables for it to work properly and yesterday I looked it up (keep in mind that my French/English dictionary is smaller than my IPod) and it is Mouton. Works well:

Mouton noir, avez vous de leine
Oui, monsieur, j'ai trois sac plein
Une pour moi
Une pour vous
Une pour les enfents qui reste chez nous
Mouton noir, avez voud de leine
Oui, monsieur, j'ai trois sac plein.

Awesome! I like that translation.

I suppose if sheep had been one syllable you could have added "-ette" to it.

But that's now a "mout" pointe.

Very funny.

OK, I expect you to be teaching these to Jackson on Wednesday night.

If you thought you got no sleep before, just wait until we have Jackson in the house again. This will be our first try since our disasterous night in September.

What is the french for Baa Baa? I still have the French-English dictionary you gave me but would not engage is the activity of translating anything. I am still struggling with English and all it's meanings.

Didn't you notice? They don't say Baa Baa in french.
