I voted my absentee ballot before I left for California in October. Now I have been back for a few days and inundated with negative campaign ads on TV and found out all the bad things that have been done by the people I voted for. In their defense, their opponents are not any better.
No wonder people don't bother voting.

The worse thing the republicans could throw at my guy was that he was late paying his taxes. They didn't say if he was illegally late; for all we know he filed an extension and just paid late.
The Democratic ads were just as stupid. It makes you think if anyone is influenced by these dumb, dumb ads. I am certainly not sorry to see the ads end for another few years.
I did notice that none of the republican ads showed anyone shaking hands with W. Political distance anyone?
Well I saw some ads with people shaking W's hand, but they were all negative ads by Democrats against their challengers. You are right, a lot of them are trying to distance themselves, so maybe they're not all idiots...
I sent my absentee ballot in a few weeks ago. I just hope it made a difference, but we'll see later tonight.
As I was lying on my death bed yesterday, completely taken out by this flu bug, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not vote in this election. I just couldn't bring myself to get up and go. Then while having CNN on in the background, Nancy Pelosi (the new speaker of the house) came on, "I urge all Democrats to get out and vote, especially those of you inCalifornia." That did it, I got out of bed, made Marisa drive me and crawled into the polling booth. I skipped all the judges but voted on all the major offices and the hundred (not really but it felt like it) propositions. Some went well, but we are stuck with the GOvernator for 4 more years. Im going back to bed.
Ahnold, da Govanata!
