Who's the hippest grandma on the casino bus. Why, its that lady wearing the IPod earbuds. I went to Windsor on my own yesterday so I was under no obligation to talk to or listen to anyone. Erika loaded a new book for me this weekend. I don't even know the title but it is about the "Petit Yayas". I listened to my book all the way to the Windsor then shut it off through customs and into the casino. Inside the casino it was very, very loud. It was very, very crowded. It was free Paczke day.
After I had lost $30.00 pretty quickly, I sat at a nickle poker machine and played one nickle at a time and listened to my book for about a half hour. I still had 3 of my $5.00 left at that point and took it out and went to play Babushka. I won $35.00 on that and started my day all over again. At the poker machine I could listen to the IPod pretty good, but back in the general population, the background noise was too loud.
I did listen to it all the way home, and just this morning noticed that I had almost no battery left. Something I will have to learn to check before each outing.

What is a Packze?
That was my question too.
I am glad you are enjoying the iPod so much, but you were always the hippest grandma on the bus. The book is called "Bloomin' YaYas" by Rebecca Wells. I just finished it and it was very good. It is a collection of stories about the YaYas and the extended family.
Pronounced PUNCHKEY
if you wanna charge it then jst plug it in the night before you leave and it will be ready to go when you leave
Be careful, I found out from Adam that if you don't charge it and it dies you could lose everything on there.
Still, no one has explained what the heck a punkey is.
How could you have grown up so close to Hamtramck without ever knowing what a Paczke is. I thought it was just the spelling that threw you off (it did me when I first saw it) They are jelly donuts. They have extra calories because the old country tradition is to use up all the lard in the house before lent starts so they are traditional "Fat Tuesday" food.
Well, that explains it. Karl might have known what they were since he was the only one of us that would not have run the other way from a jelly donut of any sort. There is never any confusion when you bring on the chocolate frosted.
