The dead zone I'm talking about is two toes on my right foot that due to back disks and nerve damage from years ago have been useless and have no feeling. They are the little piggy that had roast beef and the little piggy who had none.
Now flashback to a time when my darling granddaughter, Marisa, for some school or girl scout project made me a brick. Its painted white and has felt glued to the bottom and pretty pictures all around it. It has lived up against the wall in my bedroom until the time that I moved into this new unit.
Now, in order to keep my front door opened wide, I need a doorstop. Finally the brick can fulfill its destiny. And, its fair to say, part of the destiny of a brick doorstop is that someday, somehow, someone is going to stub a toe on it.
Well, I'm here to tell you that there is life in those dead toes. I just never dug deep enough before.

iF i'M NOT MISTAKEN IT WAS THE OTHER ADORABLE GRANDCHILD THAT MADE IT FOR bOY sCOUTS. Whoops, caps lock was on.
And you went "wah wah wah wah" even though you were already home?
(Couldn't resist)
As if she only has two adorable grandchildren.
Wow, Uncle Tim, you really are corny! Wah wah wah...
And boy, it took me a long time to remember that whole rhyme! I must be too far removed from the innocence of my childhood. Go figure...
Adam made that brick? I don't remember knowing that. I have a small wooden what-not box with a removable cover on my dresser that Adam made. I'm afraid I have been thinking of Marisa every time I looked at that brick. It will be hard to change now.
There was something wrong with your comments this morning and I could not get more than your latest post, so I migrated you to a new template and brought over the links to everyone else. Let me know if you like it.
HUGE!
It was for Boy Scouts, but it may have been Marisa that made your brick, because we made them on the back porch at the house on Elm and Ris and the neighborhood kids were there also. So Ris made one AND Adam made one. I have one also, but I've long since discarded any pictures that were decorating it. I have never stubbed my toe on the brick, but I'm knocking on wood just in case.
To be honest, I don't like the new template! Maybe you could bring back the old one???
Ditto!
