Party in New York

Happy Birthday Bernie

We all traveled to Rome, N.Y. for Melody's wedding. All my children, grand-children and great-grandchildren were in attendance. But we only got one picture of all of us together. I am very happy that we got at least that one.

Our map quest route took us through Canada and the scrutiny of our citizenship papers was more thorough than anytime in my recent memory. Crossing out of Ontario into Lewistown N.Y. took us more than an hour. The bridge itself is only .5 miles and it was about 11:00 am, a time that I would not consider rush hour.

We were able to do a casino trip at Turning Stone Casino on Friday afternoon while the younger set took the youngest set to the zoo.

As much as I love travelling and being with my whole family, you still can't beat home sweet home.

I have heard that a passport will be required when entering Canada. Has that started yet?

With all the trips you have made to go to Windsor's Casinos you are certainly qualified on how long it should take to cross over.

The time has not yet come when we need a passport for Canada. They keep pushing it back. We do need a birth certificate or some proof of citizenship and a picture I.D.

When we take the Windsor bus, the driver checks everyone's I.D. before he lets them on the bus. At the border the most they do is have someone board the bus and come down and look at all the I.D's as we hold them up.

Even though that delay was a nuisence I don't disagree that it might be necessary. A busload of seniors is different from cars containing all sorts.
