What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. At the Movies. Well, we got there at about 10:00 AM and didn't get home till midnight so I guess it was more than an afternoon.
AMC Theaters were offering for $30.00 a whole day of movies as they ran all of the pictures that had been nominated as "best picture". This included all the popcorn and soda you could handle.
So, I am fresh from seeing all the nominated movies and by far the only one deserving of the title is Babel.

If you did that on Sat. then you missed the Spirit Awards, a much better show that the Oscars.
I guess your vote didn't count; two wins for Scorcese...
That is a long time to be in a movie theater. I went the other day for less than three hours and found it was enough. The man next to me had a "jimmy leg" and it bothered me, yet, I could not bring myself to complain. Can they really control that leg? Once again, I was amazed at the people that have armloads of food to consume while watching the movie. The people on both sides of me (I was alone)ate popcorn and other goodies. They both ate for more than two hours. As some of my grandchildren can testify, I do not eat during a movie nor do I buy them anything to eat.
When Stephanie was very young Erika and I took her to the movies. When we went by the concession stand she said she wanted snacks. I said "Grandma doesn't buy snacks." She looked up at Erika and said "Do you"?
Twelve hours was a long time to subsist on popcorn and pop and at about 7:00 PM Erika did break down and buy a couple of $4.00 hotdogs for us.
I have a "jimmy" leg. With a lot of concentration I can transfer the wiggle to my toes. I've read that fidgiters use a lot of calories fidgiting. I need all the "use a lot of calories" I can get, but I don't envy the people around me.
I can't fine the thread about Quinine
I’m not a doctor, but I did play one with my cousin. Here is the Quinine story as I have been able to piece it together. Medicare has dropped it. FDA has it approved only for Malaria symptom relief. The manufactures can sell what they have it stock, but the whole thing is heading for extinction. There are better drugs for Malaria.
What I have done is I have the bottle next to my bed. I rattle the bills in it and tell my feet the pills are very dangerous, but if they cramp I’m going to take ‘em, “If I die, you die.” They have been very good the last few nights.
