Once again, simple economics of supply and demand are in effect. More people will buy gas at the lower price than at the higher price and that is why the price is lower. The glut of oil has to be sold. One thing we do know, George Bush did not go out and lower the price.
You are lucky... The lowest the prices have gotten here is in the 1.90's, and I'm only a couple hours away! But it's better than in Knoxville, where prices are just starting to go below 2.00.

rgmmy-Coming to California, fill your suitcases with gas. Soak you clothing, we can wring you out when you get here.
Fill the biggest suitcases you can, then take them back full of two liter bottles, They are 5 cents here and ten in Michigan.
We were at 2.04 yesterday and we are at 1.99 today. I am holding out (with my half tank) until we hit 1.81.
