I got a cramp in my leg last night. While I was repositioning, I glanced at the ceiling to see what time it was. I love my clock that reflects the time on the ceiling. The clock said 4.4g. I would have been OK with that, but the cramp persisted and I started to wonder what the g stood for. By the time I decided to get up and take a pill, the clock said 4:51.
By then I was awake enough and I turned on the early morning news to see what had gone on overnight. I said a prayer for the poor people caught in floods on the east coast. I was still awake when the clock said 5.5g. I dozed off sometime after that but woke in time to change the channel to ESPN2 at 7:00 where they are covering Wimbledon.
I am loving that tournement. All my favorite people are still in.

Is your 8 missing a leg?
No, it was the 9 that struck me as a g.
Twice. It struck you twice as a G. I think it must be playing with your head.
How long has it been since you had your eyes checked?
You silly people. As soon as I saw the 4:51 I realized that the g must have been a 9. Now, just every time I see the 9, I think of it as a g. Much like the kitchen fox.
(To the uninitiated, when you camp a lot there exists a box which is dedicated to kitchen paraphernalia. One time, in our family someone called it a kitchen fox and that's what it has been ever since.)
I thought there was some significance to the fact that you linked a period with the 'g' each time you referred to it and then used the semi-colon for time with three normal digits.
